Venture Catalysts, Manish Modi and Ness Wadia invests in AgriGator

 Mumbai: Venture Catalysts, India’s first and largest integrated incubator, and accelerator, has recently led an undisclosed investment in AgriGator, a B2B digital supply chain platform. The funding round was led by Manish Modi on behalf of Venture Catalysts and also saw participation from Ness Wadia, who served as the Co-investor. AgriGator is a 100X.VC Nov 2019 funded Portfolio Company. Founded in 2019 by Udit Sangwan and Charu Chaturvedi, AgriGator aims to provide a one-stop solution to the inefficiencies in the agricultural supply chain market by facilitating trade and logistics service between buyers, sellers, and carrier providers in return for a small commission on every transaction. IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab renamed Punjab Kings

The franchise, jointly owned by Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta and Karan Paul, is yet to win an IPL title since the event's inaugural edition in 2008 Kings XI Punjab were on Wednesday renamed as Punjab Kings ahead of the 2021 IPL auction on Thursday in Chennai. A new logo was also unveiled on Wednesday.  Speaking about the new brand identity, team CEO Satish Menon said: "Punjab Kings is a more evolved brand name, and we understand it was a right time for us to move focus on the core brand itself. The change in brand identity is not about changing our brand ethos but celebrating our one-ness as we stand in unit like a family. The new logo honors the liveliness and vibrancy of the brand and provides modern elements, while we stand out from rest of the teams." In wake of the violent clash between India and China at the Galwan Valley, Kings XI Punjab co-owner Ness Wadia has asked the BCCI to gradually sever ties with Chinese sponsors for the Indian Premier League. After the recent face-off between India and China in Galwan valley, where 20 Indian soldiers attained martyrdom, there has been a huge outrage across the country with the government also keen on ending ties with China. Soon after the Indian government announced a ban on 59 Chinese apps in India, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) co-owner Ness Wadia also appealed to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to gradually sever ties with Chinese sponsors for the Indian Premier League (IPL). Ensure better umpiring, use tech to the max: Wadia urges BCCI

DUBAI: Kings XI Punjab co-owner Ness Wadia has urged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to ensure "better" umpiring standards and make maximum use of the technology in the Indian Premier League (IPL).  This comes after the Kings XI Punjab lost their IPL 13 opener to Delhi Capitals in the Super Over on Sunday.  During the 19th over of KXIP's innings when Mayank Agarwal and Chris Jordan were batting, the square leg umpire adjudged that a second run taken by England's Jordan was not complete.  However, replays showed Jordan's bat had crossed the line.  "I would request BCCI to ensure better umpiring and to ensure henceforth that technology is used to the maximum so as to ensure fairness and transparency in a game which is known to be the best leagues in the world," Wadia said in a statement on Monday.

IPL 2021: Punjab Kings join forces with Round Table India to provide oxygen concentrators to COVID patients

IPL franchise Punjab Kings have extended their hand to help India fight the battle against COVID-19. PBKS have joined forces with Round Table India (RTI) to provide oxygen concentrators to needy COVID-19 patients. Punjab Kings will finance the oxygen concentrators and RTI will handle the distribution part - whether they need to be directly handed over to patients or charitable institutions. Once a concentrator is returned after use, it will be sanitized before being handed over to another patient. Punjab Kings co-owner Ness Nusli Wadia , while announcing PBKS's COVID relief program called 'Project Saah', said the only way India can defeat the virus is by joining forces. Source - Sportskeeda
